Who makes these puzzles
Tim's Printables is run by Tim van de Vall, an illustrator and designer who has been publishing free printable worksheets, puzzles, and classroom activities since 2012. The sudoku generator started as a request from teachers who wanted fresh puzzle sheets without hunting down a new PDF every week.
Instead of a fixed library of downloads, this tool builds a brand-new pack every time you press generate, so no two classes ever get the same sheet.
How the puzzles are made
Each grid is first filled with a complete, valid solution. Numbers are then removed one at a time, and after every removal the puzzle is solved again to confirm that exactly one answer still remains. That check is what keeps the sheets fair: every puzzle can be finished with logic alone, never guessing.
Difficulty comes from how many numbers stay on the board and how much deduction is needed to fill the rest. Easy packs keep plenty of givens, while expert packs strip the grid down to the minimum.
